The Portland Maine  condo market was hit a bit harder than the single family housing market as our economy collapsed, but the condo market had also seen greater speculation prior to the bubble bursting. As we enter the spring 2010 buying season the market is strong and getting stronger.  The biggest hold up continues to be financing of individual units.   As of February 2011, there are a total of 110 condos listed at a median price point of 208K and has been sitting on the market for about 119 days.

You can buy a great studio or one bedroom condo on the West end for 125-150K, get into a newly refurbished 2-3 bedroom unit on the red hot Portland Eastern Prom for around 300K and find luxury new construction with water views in the 400-750K range.

Other local area communities that might be worth investigating for condos include real estate in South Portland and Brunswick Maine real estate, both offering additional condo developments.
